Welcome Steve. Nice to see a new member who looks after their car, detail wise. Golf is visually very impressive; what products are you using at your stable?

I tend to use Zaino or Meguires products mainly, I have a DA I purchased a couple of years ago and as you've seen, I love to look after my Golf especially, and cannot wait to use it on the DS3. Is the paint generally softer then VAG paintwork on citreons??

Like chalk and cheese. You only have to look at a DS3 and it gets more swirls. With your DA, you won't need anything more than a green polishing pad for correcting.

              Thanks Kat

Is there anything I need to look out for with the age and model car I've purchased guys?

She's being serviced for a 20k service , I've asked the dealers to change front tyres, front brake pads and carry out air con service before I sign on the dotted line.. Anything I should check for the car as it's 20 months old.

The exhaust mounts are prone to corrosion. Also check the alloys for any corrosion, especially around the centre caps. There are a couple of issues that can crop up with the THP engines, but not having one I'll let someone who knows more than me explain those.

Thanks for that, yes one of the alloy has signs of white worm under the lacquer which they are sorting aswell.
do you happen to know if the exhaust tips are replaceable separately or is it a case of metal polish and elbow grease to clean them?
                  Thanks again

Thanks pmk - I didn't think I had the DS Sport Plus (only had it for a couple of weeks). But it did come with rear park sensors so does that mean it has an anit-theft alarm??

Elbow grease, Autosol and fine grade 0000 wire wool.
If you are tempted, mjholde on here was selling his (the one pictured above) to raise funds for a house move. May be worth seeing if he sold it😁
