I told they other half not to use that shortcut...and no she doesn't work on a building site or commute past one...also none of the tyres had shown any signs of punctures prior.

Springfield Gateshead (in posting this I will say that I have no evidence they are actually doing anything wrong it's just all very odd...). Let's just say if it was a private car I'm not sure they'd be so quick to replace the tyres..also if I was on the hook for the bill I'd be asking them to produce said irreparable tyres.

I think there is Wingrove in Newcastle and another one in Silver link. I'm up near Consett so none of them are particularly local.

I'd be thinking like you that it's awfully convenient that your tyre costs are being covered, still I think you said the dealer wasn't being asked to do the work ?

Post edited as having seen the reciept from the 3rd party I'm reasonably happy it needed the tyres.

Well it's back with 3 new tyres and new shoes...

Not sure I dare get the rust bubble on the door sorted, they'll probably remove the old door throw it in the bin, then order a new one from France.

OK now had a chance to actually look around it..evidence of quality workmanship everywhere. Didn't even bother cleaning the centre caps before refitting them, all 4 tyres at different pressures none of which were 35 psi..

And the candle on the turd cake..one of the new wheels is chipped.

At this point I'm done with it, we have it for another 18 months whatever car replaces it will not have a DS badge on it.

However I did find the ATS receipt for the tyres...2 shoulder punctures and one unusable due to kerbing. So I take it back they weren't trying it on with the tyres. Although the overall quality of service is terrible.

Don't bother with the rust, I had two small blisters and when it went to bodyshop and stripped paint back they found 19 in total, to cap it off the repair is poor and now Citroen / DS don't want to know, the customer care is shocking from Citroen,

I had decided to cut my losses in time and just take it in for mandated services from now on...they did damage a wheel fitting it but sure they'd make a far worse job repairing it..

But no we have a new fault now, one of the rear lights is filling with water. Guess I'll be ringing a different dealer and seeing how good they at fixing stuff that has no right going wrong on a new car..

It's easy enough to check it yourself, take the light off and check the foam seal between the light cluster and the bulb holding section. Happened to me when I swapped my bulbs, the foam wasn't quite seated correctly. If it's not that, the light could be cracked.

Shall have a look in the morning, I couldn't see any cracks in the unit earlier but it's not been disturbed as far as I know either so bit of a puzzler.

I don't suppose there's anyway you can cut your losses with your wife's DS3 ? It seems to me that you won't have any joy from owning it now and it might be worth looking into an earlier change ?

It's a company car, so as long it keeps running reliably and isn't a pile of rust in 18 months its doing what we have it for. It's gonna get diesel in the tank scheduled services and oil, wiper blades screen wash from me from now on. This is what we are obliged to do, I could spend weeks like L22 fighting with Citroen over it but end of the day not my fight. If the future value is knackered because the car has rotted before it's time then the lease company can take it up with Citroen.

If we got rid early there are fees to pay as well so may as well ride it out.

If I'm honest it'll very probably be a reasonably presentable car at worst in 1.5 years the patch of lifting paint on the door hasn't changed much since appearing about 13 months ago and the wheels are obviously brand new. It's not like we hate the car we both wanted a DS3 but that next time it needs a service we're going to do a 44 mile round trip rather than 10 speaks volumes about the experience we've had at dealers so far.

I'm less angry about it these days though If I remember them I'll post the spec and reg on here when we return it so people can avoid it lol.

We could make that a feature "DS3s to avoid" lol
