Run whatever profile you want, as long as there is no stretch and the weight rating is correct

They're awful!!! I have done around 10,000 mile on the same Hancook tyre, I put them on the front of the DS3 last November and when it was in for a service the mechanic told me they were scrap, they're almost at the limit and you can definitely feel it when driving. The Michelin on the back are the ones that the car came out of the factory with, they've done 33k and I've still around 4mm.

Shauna, that is definitely why Citroen prefer to fit Michelin, they give all round good performance and they last longer! Also Michelin tyres have traditionally been standard fit on Citroen cars for many years.

I've bought some Toyo Proxes CF2 a week or 2 ago. My front Bridgestones (which are standard on the Ds3 over here) are almost down to the tread depth indicator right now, so I'll have to replace them soon. I hope the Toyo's will have a bit more grip, and will at least last as long as the Bridgestones. The reviews seem good, but can you really rely on customer reviews on the internet?

Only proof of tyre reliability is to try them, reviews are just a guide.

I fail to see your point when trying to compare tyres on the back, that just no comparison. the fronts wheels will wear at least 3 times as fast as the rears - its not rocket science. Rear tyres are not subjected to the same forces as the fronts!

Especially if the driving is enthusiastic. That's why I swapped my front and back tyres round during my first service (10k miles) to even out the wear.

The only problem with that is you end up needing 4 new tyres at the same time

Only if I keep the car that long

i used to do 5k then swap them about, and when the wheels were off they get a good cleaning, detox, and sealant reapplied.

Micheldever tyres recommended that for the C4, when replacing a pair of tyres that the newest pair would go on the back and the existing back pair swap to the front. However I am currently on 4 new Michelins on my DS3 so will wait and see how they all wear.Front wheel drive cars eat through front tyres due to powering and steering those wheels.
