Showroom price may be £28k, but it will sell for less if you haggle

Test drove a Racing in 2013, they wanted £25.5k for it, then after they'd phoned me 8 times over 2 months it had dropped to around £22k from what I recall.

Haggle, haggle as Mr Cleese said.

Might not get much joy for first 12 months tho.

Having currently got a Golf R, would happily get one of these next time round, but it is 90bhp or so less, so not sure they are in the same arena. We will see.

I love the Racing but it was always overpriced; especially the Cabrio. If the new one is in the price range we're all guessing, there are far better cars around and I think it'll struggle to sell.

I've said several times that if the pricing point we're estimating is borne out in practice I wouldn't buy one.... I agree with the others who've said for that money (or a little bit more) you can get a whole lot more car at another marque.

Fixed that for you Oli I did agree the last statement though assuming our price guesses are near the mark

The Cabrio was around £29k - but only 10 came to the UK. So where as many don't really get the allure of the exclusivity this is included in the price tag.

The 2010 R was around £23-25k? I know it was basically 7-10k extra than a Dsport, but again this includes the one of 200 price tag. And around £800 less than the JCW?

If they only do a limited run of the Performance I imagine it will be a steep release price. But you do get a lot more equipment than the top range DS3

              The first Racing had:
              Obviously engine spec
              Bigger brakes
Carbon fibre arches, diffusers, side inserts, steering wheel trim etc
              Unique 18" Racing alloys
              The seats
              Interior trim and details
              Etc

Depends how many they intend to sell I guess.......

From what I've read online looks like four body colours will be offered – Polar White, Shark Grey, Perla Nera Black and Sport Red – with either a black or white roof for the hatchback - but this doesn't match anything we have seen from the pics - so not sure!

Just the specs that are in comparison I believe:
This engine ensures the DS Performance easily outguns the Ford Fiesta ST (which has 177bhp and emits 139g/km).

Agree with most what you say ^ Joni.

Lets just hope the "Performance" isn't just a limited run

Would certainly like to know more about the THP engine, or maybe its a car to be acquired and divorced from within a 3 year period

                  ^^^ This.

Suppose on the bright side there aren't 40k "limited edition" cars on the road...*cough* Vauxhall Corsa

The previous racing will always be a limited edition and unique to itself. The new performance won't be in the same bracket. From interior to exterior nothing will match. Apart from the side of the car you sit on

I'm just guessing..... but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised re prices. Just a hunch I have.

You still have a limited edition car, but for Citroen not to build on the success of the DS3 and its various models would be commercial suicide.

                        To settle the debate and answer some questions;

First there are two versions of the Performance, DS 3 Peformance and DS 3 Performance Black. What you see in the pictures is the black and that is the colour it comes in. The standard DS3P is offered in a couple of colour choices Polar, Black (not matt), Shark and Red with either white or black roofs.

Next the DS3P and DS3PB is offered as a Cabrio option as well.

The prices for the DS3P is £20,495 with the Cabrio version being £22,795. The DS3PB will start at £22,495 and the Cabrio at £24,795.

The vinyl's that are show are an option on both versions costing £250.

That's a significant jump in price between the P and the PB, is the paint the only difference or does the Black have a higher spec?

It comes with the GT Pack fitted (£1,000 option on DS3P) and the matt paint which accounts for the other £1,000.

                            The GT Pack includes;

                            eMyWay
                            HiFi Upgrade

Nice, shame they didn't crank up the performance a smidgen over the other car, just for an added willy waving factor.

I constantly think about having mine resprayed in Matt dark grey, no idea how much it would be for a professional job.
