  • how save is stage 2 with stock dv thp

how save would it be to run stage2 with stock dv on the thp?

  • #2
Would not do it myself- there has been some issues with stock DV on remapped THPs. Extra heat doesnt help
    Get a Forge one..... ;-)

If you use stock DV, certainly dont use it forever
They break down after bout 20k miles

I would not let the valve stop you from your other upgrades. As long as it is in good shape it is not going to damage anything short term to leave the stock one on. Just would need to be taken care of eventually.

            Agree with Cyclone^
Just take the stock DV off every now and again and check the plastic outer case, and diaphragm thing isnt detiorating cos of excess heat

Read the thread on the upgrade spring for the stock DV, it did make a little difference in smoothness for me, but i swapped out for the "G" internals too.
Think Jamie sells them for a £10, and sure he could post you one for a little extra

I found my standard DV was warn, and I was hearing a faint whistle as it dumped the turbo pressure when lifting off he throttle. upgraded the internals to a VAG REV D one and feels much better now.

is this the exact part number 06H 145 710 D and was it as simple as just swapping out the internals from the vag dv into our dv?

Yes, i got the G valve with the uprated spring but mines a diaphragm. Toxics' is piston driven, so why a G valve better James, or is it just preference?

Friend is still running with stock DV over 70K (and this is on our Russian fuel, that we don't really trust))))) + no cleaning of valves and changing chain btw either! same specs as my car!!! only not forge motorsport. but, recently started to hear whistling from the hood! but its mostly an exception...

As for the thread - yes! get a Forge DV... and not the blow off one!
