The fact you may even think an EDCxxxx will be fitted to a petrol car scares the hell out of me if your professional tuner.

Granted, copy and pasted the wrong cell. Easy mistake, MED17 it should have been.

Either way, it's going to be Tricore so it will end up being benched.

So to the OP, ring Angel Tuning up and ask if they have the facilitiers to bench ECU's if not then don't waste your time with the trip

It sounds like you're attempting to muddy Jamie's reputation with a typical schoolyard argument of my dad's better than your dad.

No, i have n intention of any of that type of stuff. I just found it amusing so many loyalists (which is fair enough) when there has been a few posts that no one has picked up on.

A few of you were trying to discourage a guy from getting a remap from a company none of you have been to?

Jamie's been on the forum since 2011 and has been a constant source of advice, and humour. Of course there's a bias, that's why he's still here! I was discouraging him from going to a tuner none of us had heard of in place of somebody with a reputation for doing a good job and whom is known to members.

You've flagged one post that's questioned Jamie and in return he's picked you up on one of your own posts. The subtle knocks you're trying to throw Jamie's way are tedious, instead of speaking in tongues, just speak your mind if you have a grievance and allow that person a chance to rebute your claims..

I'll be the first to say that I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to tuning but I can point people in the direction of somebody who is.

Granted.I went to Quantum for my remap but I don`t promote or advertise them in any way as I don`t work for them.Just one happy customer.Of course it is all about informed personal choice,reliability and convenience with regard to remapper location.

Yep same, Jamie has remapped both mine with no errors at all My belief in Jamie is that he knows what he's talking about and can do the work with no issues in my experience. Others seem to blag their experience or copy and paste info they've read which inspires me with no confidence at all.

I'm not seeking in code or anything like that. Look at my post history, or speed to the mods. I've been not far from a ban a few times, I speak my mind. What I said was what I thought. I have seen a few posts on here that question his work but no one picks up on die to unquestionable loyalty.

In regards to my profession being questioned, that's fair enough. I copied and pasted from a wrong cell on a spreadsheet with thousands of entries. What I will say though is, the last few days I've been working along side Alientech (biggest manufacturer or ECU tools in the world) yo crack the new Focus RS so let's not get ahead of our selves.

Some one clearly stating CEL and limp mode from a map Jamie had done. IMHO no tuner would let you leave with a map like that as it brings their reputation into disrepute.

As for the link are you talking about Monkeynuts post ? If so I think he chose to stay with a 'mega' map as he put it as he enjoyed the extra power and torque it gives and was happy to live with the occasional CEL. He says as much in his posts on that page.

I had the same choice but as much as I'd like 165bhp from my eHDi I went with the standard map.

All you do is switch off and the problem resets .

Now Jamie has had the car back and we have played with different maps and they are no where as good as this one so I have decided to run with it .

Now the data log could be an interesting way of finding out why this is happening .................boost spike perhaps"

Here is a link to a post you will have seen. To some one who knows stuff about cars this should have been a massive head in hands.

And then the post after it by Jamie. As I said, any one who values their reputation wouldnt have let the customer leave with a map throwing up faults. As it does exactly this, ruins their reputation.

And that isn't event the post I'm referring to... so thats 2 customers that have left with cars that get CEL's under WOT.

So it was the Monkeynuts post and he was looking for a better/bigger than standard map for his eHDi and wanted to keep it despite it not being the finished article ?

That map was the first one we tried on mine (as it also showed 400nm of torque) before we decided to go back to the normal eHDi remap. Monkeynuts decided the opposite - how is that a bad mark against Jamie ?
