Umm, my OEM discs and pads are still going at 31,200 miles - am I driving like an old woman? (I hit the throttle hard but tend to come off the throttle before needing to brake).

I'm going to get my last 'free' inspection service in around November - as that's the scheduled time and I'll still be under 35,000 miles (free service limit) - I suspect I'll be told 'new pads immediately' or worse discs too - as I don't think I'll keep the car for ages longer, is this something easy enough to do yourself, or do any of you guys know how to do them?

Might need to trade a detail of someones car for a brake replacement on mine!

    Regards,
    Clive.

        Clive

I changed the discs/pads on all 4 corners on my Astra SRi a few years back, wasn't that tricky and I just followed the Haynes manual (not yet available for the DS3 ) I'm guessing you already have a trolley jack/axle stands and the tools ? I don't recall seeing it but maybe Biggie can post some info in his file repository for discs/pad changes ?

There is a little brake info here - http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread....uments-for-DS3

Not sure - might get another DS3 then again I'm a bit impulsive with my cars....but I won't even tell the other half until I'm sure and probably already ordered! Only do my brakes if needed as won't change car before winter, so earliest would be next Spring, but then again......

Checked with Citroen today- no official brake upgrade that would stay within warranty
He suggested I put aftermarkets on LOL

Just thought i'd post an update of the EBC brakes that I fitted how ever long ago. I have yet to lock the wheels (even with Emergency braking) - Very good.
Stopping distance from 70 mph is amazing compared to standard :-D about 4-5 car lengths. Gives a great sound too.
Still have a lot of meat on both discs and pads, not measured, don't plan to either, but looks like I might have gone though at most 1mm on pads & barely taken anything of the discs. Around 2K miles covered since the swap.
Yet to paint calipers - Can't find locking wheel nut... pretty sure it wasn't in the car before it went to the garage because I didn't see it, so hopefully it's just in one of my tool boxes. Fingers crossed.

Sounds good on the brakes front- brakes will be my second mod within warranty exc wheels (Exhaust was first, probably saved Citroen replacing the original LOL)
Will go for slotted and grooved early next year to get ready for a few track days, should keep slightly cooler

Got to my calipers within about 50 mile of new- painted calipers (As they didn't need degreasing) and put aftermarket wheels on
                    Bellones to normal for me

Glad your EBC are keeping and working well Madman

I concur, my Greenstuffs and ECB discs feel very smooth.

Possibly Brembo discs and pads but they seem to be double the price for the same thing
Wonder if they are manufactured from stronger materials

Or, yes- greenstuff pads EBC slotted grooved....unless someone knows better
