My quest for decent, reasonlbly priced Coilovers for the THP 155 continues

Just had a chat with Kev at BC Coilovers, and whilst they don't appear to do a system for the THP 155 51mm strut, he suggested that all the bits probably exist, and they could be put together at the factory

He talked about what the front bottom mount size is, and what size would the pinch bolt size would be? (Anyone?) Conversation started moving away from me at that stage (Just a layman me) although can understand what he's after. He then started talking about the sizing of the DS3 Racing, which got me wondering just how many size shocks there are on the DS3s? Surely theres on the 47 and 51 mm strut diameters?

Anyway- he's got my email and will be contacting me within 48hrs or so, so he said :-)

Only 2 sizes as far as I'm aware of...
Bilstein do a strut for the Racing and is listed with a 51mm strut diameter also.
Pity the coilovers were manufactured with 47mm....... Doh!

Been exchanging emails most of the morning with the manufacturers of BC Coilovers
They reckon theyre existing Coilovers will fit the 155 (Same size as the Racing they say- 51mm strut)
Offered me sale or return- should I go for more than that LOL

If you fit lowering springs, do they affect the existing shock absorbers
IE- More pressure on them, as springs are lower, causing issues?

ED- Got this as a reply from a supplier

These springs will physically fit with your standard shocks, However due to the work load the shocks will have to do to cope with the excess lowering the life expectancy of them will be reduced, Unfortunately it is impossible to tell when the shocks will fail but at that point it would be best to replace them with shortened shocks rather than standard replacements,

Surely 207 coilovers fit as they are all 47mm or 51mm? The weight of both cars is going to be similar too. Get a set screwed into one and try them out.

Wouldn't fit any suspension that wasnt specifically for the DS3 myself

Shouldn't have to either. There is a decent choice of spring and coilover kits available for the DS3 so why would one bother with a 207 kit?

Thinking of going for Eibach springs- 40mm fromt 30mm back
                              Why? Not the money
But if i dont keep the vehicle long term...for whatever reason- why spend a Grand..instead of £250?

                              Tell me?

                              Jamie........price for install pleeease

hi chris think kits are either 40mm all round or 30mm all round, if you want 40mm at front and 30mm at back you need coilovers or two
                                sets of springs?
