  • Oil Catch can emptied on a THP 155, after 1396 miles

The Catch can was fitted late January 2014, and emptied today, March 19th 2014.
A mix of 1396 spirited, and town driving miles
Was surprised at just how much gunk came out, with the oil settling at the top
Wouldnt run a THP without one myself, and have all that stuff going back into the intake
This is a late October 2012 build

Yeah I'm just coming up to 18k. No issues so far. Definitely looking into getting a catch can more seriously now.

Think she was more opposed to the way in which i proundly saved the smelly goo in the glass, for her to see when she got home

Been told its worse in the cold winter months, due to condensation etc.
But yes- it was a lot. THP 155 not even 17months since built
Course- the engine is designed to handle this so they say.

Drained both of mine this morning, only a teaspoon full in the front. Nothing in the rear PCV this time.
                        Only 400 miles though.

Lets hope so Beef, but doubt it somehow
Several other people told me how much they got out in the past, and 2 Racing owners have both said a mugfull for couple thousand miles
Still- at least people can see. And if the can catches nothing, then nothing lost :-)

I've been using my intake valves to catch any gunk going back to the engine
