        • Hello. I'm one of you now:

My DS3 was powerless for 3 days in a row before I took it to Veho (the dealer). No fault lights were lit and their system check didn't result any fault codes. Of course the problem didn't reveal itself but once in during their test-drives and during that time no fault codes were detected.

They simulated the problem by disconnecting the wastegate vacuum line (not resulting a fault code) and ended up changing the magnetic valve controlling the vacuum line. According to them the valve was stuck occasionally.

Now the valve has been changed and I'm 500 € poorer. Let's see how it'll do from now on.

          • Hi Ilzed- You were not under warranty? 3yr warranty in UK.

If your THP is 2011, is it a THP 150?

Glad its all good now- welcome to the club

            • In Finland they've nicked a year from it giving us only 2-year warranty. www.citroen.fi/fi/MyCITROEN tells me my car is CITROEN THP 156 SPORT CHIC (AW) DS3 and yes it's 2011.

              • Ask Veho your RP number, with that you can find out the real manufacturing date. My DS3 is 2011 first registered but manufactured on 28th Oct 2010 so it's a "150".

                • Pretty sure the first THP 155s were only built January 2012

Mines registered March 13 but was built Late October 2012, so have the orange speedo lights (November on they are white lights) and didn't originally have the 3d lights
Said I wouldn't buy it until they fitted 3d lights.....which they duly did :-)

According to the RP number the manufacture date is December 17, 2010.

                    • If it were me with an earlyish THP 150 out of warranty, would Catch can first , possibly rear PCV Delete, and check timing chain/tensioner. Maybe replace timing chain.
                      Stick good fuel in,
BGK44 as additive maybe. Check/change plugs, change oil n filter and make sure its at FULL all the time
                      Then HPFP

Sounds a lot, but its better than cost of new engine round 8000euro.

                        Hey man,

just as an advice, stay away from Lielahti Veho. Everytime I pass by the stealership I press the pedal HARD as they are infamous hit'n'runners.
Anyways I live in the proximity, if you need any advice or help with your DS, let me know. That's why we are here for (I have their tools).

Would definitely do that but replacing the chain costs about 1000 euros (chain, tensioners, pulley(s)). And how does one check the chain?

I know someone who will do it for a lot cheaper. Rebuilt my engine and has checked mine's chain tolerances couple of times.

Luckily those were changed during my warranty already.
