In order to keep the service history true, would it be better taking it to the dealer? Or can I get away with taking it to a local garage?

Looking at Citroens website it's about £100 for a simple service, oil/filter change and fluid top-up seems a bit steep if you ask me

Any VAT registered garage I'm told - but apparently it may affect the GFV at the end if it hasn't been taken to Citroen?

Not having the right stamps can affect the value of the car when it comes to part exchange. I can't say for other dealers but I tend to knock the SIV down by at least a couple hundred because in my experience these are the cars that have a higher recon cost.

Would I not be right in saying by not going to a dealer you may also miss any recall changes that are flagged?

Very true, every Citroen Dealer should when your car is booked in check it's VIN against the eRIC system to see if there are any outstanding campaigns that need doing.

Bear in mind now that Citroen has launched it's recall website you can check this info yourself, can't be bother to list the link but that little grey box up top will help you out!

If it's safety-related the manufacturer will contact the Registered Keeper (i.e. the person whose name is on the registration document). You can also check for any recalls relevant to your car on the VOSA website.

Had my 10,000k service done yesterday £99, also had the front wheels re-balanced, drives very smooth again.

Sorry to bring this up again, I'll have mine a year come the end of June - the dealer threw in the 3 years service package for me. I had a read through all the guff that came with the cars paperwork and I don't see anything that says about the annual check (rather than 2 years/20,000 miles).
Should I be booking it in for the annual check and will that be covered in the servicing package??

As far as i can tell Pete- the first "normal service" for 2011 THP motors is 2 years or 20,000 miles

Therefore if you want the "Annual Check" after 1 year, which the dealer will stamp your book, they will charge approx £85 +VAT

They just check things over and change oil and oil filter

Its not REQUIRED for warranty purposes- just RECOMMENDED. Me having it done (And they should check for recalls etc)

The three years servicing package does include the annual service. For details of servicing requirements see your Maintenance & Warranty Guide

It's all a tad confusing lol... though i have 120vti, not thp.
I was just thinking that it's the dealers way of getting money out of people - making them think they'll get 3 services for £199 when in fact they'll only get 1:confused:

Pete if you haven't hit 20k by the end of year one then book in for your Annual Service, this is covered under the plan but remember if you need any extra parts they will be charged for.

It certainly wasn't sold to me as three services for £199; it was sold as three years' servicing for £199. For me it will be two annual services & one routine service, which doesn't sound like too bad a deal!
