Rather than being smooth like glass the paint is textured similar to the skin of an orange, generally the sign of a crap paint job.

Here we go again, car booked into Park's East Kilbride to have paintwork flattened and polished and also have the trims replaced that had overspray. Car was to be with them 4 days max, however I got it back after two weeks with numerous phone calls which were never returned. On the day of pick up I arrived to find my car covered in dust and bird shit and no new trims fitted, they then proceed to wash car with what must have been a house brick as car is now covered in scratches, when I pointed this out to the Manager (debatable ) he said it would need to come back in to be rectified to which I answered that ain't feckin happening. Citroen customer care (JOKE) don't want to know and said it's between me and their approved bodyshop and it was DS customer care that made me take it to them. I asked Park's to pay for car to have a paint correction done at a place of my choosing and they said nope. I am so fecked off with citroens attitude to their customers as I have now had 9 days off work with this car that should be left to metal science to see how it got so much rusty metal. RIP ds3 (RUST IN PEACE).

I asked citroen to either buy it off me or replace like for like, the answer was no. I don't think i should have to take a hit after 6 months ownership through no fault of my own. If citroen dint produce substandard cars I wouldn't even be writing this, sad thing is I really like the car.

That's the kicker with this the dealers get all the stick rightly or wrongly but in a lot of cases you do think that Citroen are just hanging them out to dry. I used to use the dealer that I'm not going back to when I had a Suzuki, and I actually thought quite highly of them. But Suzuki had full manufacturers warranty for 3 years and cars that weren't made out of spit wads, coke bottles, and washing machine off cuts if you had the odd issue they could just bill Suzuki and issues were fewer. When I did have issues they were confident in getting support from the manufacturer to rectify them and so happy to do so.

The fact of the matter is the issues the dealers find themselves fighting shouldn't be encountered on cars when they are still young enough to be in the dealer network.

I wouldn't mind as much if citroen would just admit there's an issue with rust but they just keep denying it. As far as iam concerned you can't get rid of rust by sanding down then a squirt of primer then a quick paint. So Mr Maximillion Jamiens time to make on very pissed off citroen owner happy and up your game to sort it out rather than just blaming the APPROVED bodyshops.

Well that's just it, yes the dealer sounds like they have a bad job...but it's a bad job they'd never have had to attempted if the car left the factory finished to a reasonable standard.

If they have any hope of DS actually becoming a premium brand they need to sort the quality of the cars at source. There is a correlation between dealers people like and reliable cars. You never find out the limitations of your dealer if you don't visit them for anything out of the ordinary.

Not asking for rolls Royce quality , just looking for car that's not producing rust on its bodywork at two year old and for citroen to acknowledge the issue rather than just painting over the cracks.

At this point I'd settle for Dacia quality...

A handful of cars with rust problems out of over 5000 on here, does not make a shit manufacture. And even that is screwed as more people just come to post problems than to post how happy they are. Things do not always work out, that's life always ready to kick you in the balls when your not looking. Sell and move on. Problem solved.

OK a handful of 5000 but how many of the 5000 on here actually have had a look to see if they have rust issues but how many ds3 owners are out there with issues that are not members and why should I take a hit on the value after just 6 months of ownership. However it's not just rust issues theres engine failures ,seat failures, exhaust brackets giving up, alloys corroding , leaking windscreen seals ,carpets wearing away at footrest etc etc etc but if you actually read my previous post I said I actually liked the car apart from the is fiasco that citroen have let run for 6 months.

Liking it and constantly fighting it's problems. Sounds like your picking on a scab too me. Sell it get another or something else and be done.
