Re the sorting order, I don't know how to put a custom sort order on either, as you say it appears random

Right, Bringing up an old thread. I've been trawling through nearly every music related thread on the site and there is still one thing I cannot get my head around...

My USB stick is FAT32 and my music is mp3.. no problems there.

Say I've got roughly 1500 songs on my usb stick split into 3 folders of around 500 songs each. I know how to do the settings for the folder replay or the shuffle but you cant do both at the same time which is annoying :/ if I have the folder replay on, it only plays whichever folder I've selected in order of what the songs are on the USB stick. But if I put it on shuffle it only read 999 songs across all of the folders... Also annoying!

All I'm wanting to know is if I split my folders and sort them out into say Rock, Clubby stuff and Normal, is there anyway to get each separate folder just to play randomly or not?

      Cheers guys

^ In a simple term no as far as I'm aware.

The USB system in the DS3 is a limited set-up so you have to forgive some of it's short comings. As before my best advice for music is not to use anything bigger than a 4/8gb disk (access speed is noticeably quicker at these sizes compared to larger disks) and put your Club, Rock, Handbag ( ) music onto different disks and just switch them out when you want too. That way you will get the random function you are after and also avoid the 999 song limit on shuffle.

For me the two seconds it take to switch out the USB is infinitly better than having to "put up"

I suppose. Cheers pal, another thing. Could all of this be avoided by just having a cheap Ipod. Then obviously it'll be all synced to iTunes and it should play everything as you want it to and can be left in the car?

            Guys,

Had my DS3 Dsport a week. Spent a day ripping CDs to a USB stick. Everything plays fine, but it plays all tracks within a folder in a random order. I can't seem to find how to take off the shuffle function.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can find nothing in the manual, which I'm finding, for many things, seems to apply to a completely different car. . .

The second hand car dealers gave me a manual about 2 years newer than my car, so the displays and controls are quite different in some places.

Hopefully someone can answer your question though

You should be able to view the manual for the right year here: http://service.citroen.com/ddb/index.html

Memory serves you just press "OK" to bring up the menu you need.

According to the online manual, I need to press the music button, and then the right arrow to get to the playback options. Will have a go later.

The sound quality from the unit is reasonably decent. I was prepared to buy a new stereo (had an old Alpine in my old car) before I bought the car, but while the sound's good enough, the controls are too small and difficult to use on the move, so I'll still probably replace it as some point. I find find the speakers to be a bit shrill at the top end despite turning the treble control down. Not sure a new unit would solve that problem. I not really prepared to replace the speakers as well.

                    Thanks, everyone.
