Sorry Ben. Didn't mean to p*ss on your plans. I was just playing the sensible head (for once). Premiums do drop when you get to 21 and they used to again at 25 and 30, not sure if they still do though.

Not a problem, glad you told me before i bought it as they want to add onto my premium anyway!
Be grateful you only have to pay £110 a month- mines £220 a month as i use it for business (Im a Quantity surveyor and have to travel around different construction sites) and im same as you 20 y/o with 1 years no claims (nearly two now)
That's the highest monthly premium I've ever heard of for a DS3 (except a Racing). Scandalous rip off!!!

Cause like I say I have to use it for business so that doubled the price for me- Although I don't have a black box either so least I don't have that to worry about.....

Yeah business use adds a fair whack, hopefully it will drop for you in a few months
Just dropping in. Mine is 1100 (euro's) a year with what we call an 'omnium'. Which means that if i crash it i get a new one. And they don't care about mods.

I Wish that was the case!- I would be happy paying £1100 and not having to declare mods!
Is it true that premiums take a massive drop when you turn 21?
23 y/o here with 2 years NCD. Passed my test when 17 but didn't own my own car until after uni at 21, Ford KA which lasted 7 months before dying and I got this car. KA insurance was about £700 a year, and £120 to add this car on for the rest of the year including admin fees.
I wouldn't say the drop is massive at 21, but still nicer than before. The biggest dropper is hitting that 5 years NCD mark. The first 2 years of no claims have done piss all for me.
I'm not likely to see the "drop" at 25 either, seeing as I'm buying an Evo at that point
Also, second (first full) year on the DS3 was just over £800 a year - this is fully comp SDPC with motor legal protection, personal injury, and breakdown. I always go fully kitted out on insurance. Now at about £720 with all the same, plus mods declared i.e. paint, decals, seats.
