  • I believe you can only be a nurse if your hearts in it. There are a lot of nurses out there who have lost the care, and when that goes it's time for a career change! I love my job and I feel lucky that I do, I don't think a lot of people can say they love going to work!

My wit and humour are lost on some Cardio + Heart = mildly amusing gag.

It does, PTSD is something that is hard to admit too and even harder to deal with.

After 12 years in the Army and then in Corporate Recruitment, it is so satisfying to arrive at work knowing that everything you do changes something.

Its far harder work and less money, but the rewards are massive and I am very proud for once in my life.

Totally agree, I have it and have been battling with it most of my life and its an honour to speak in Public about it

Don't worry - I thought it was funny, so there's at least one of us who shares your sense of humour.

Nick, due to the nature of my work, a decent level of emergency medical competence is required, generally this means being qualified to FPOSi, MIRA and HETLS standards. A huge problem can be skill fade and dragging reference books around the globe is not feasible. Do you know of any iPad apps that are worth buying, Essential Anatomy 3 looks very good for the A&P side of things, they don't need to be any higher level than my current standard. Air going in and out, blood going round and round.

                      • When I was training the royal Marsden was so helpful, our for my A+P exams I used Martini. The book was about £100. Don't know about iPad apps though.

Thanks, I have plenty of reference material but as I say I'm limited with what I can carry both size and weight wise.
