Citroen Factory delays June 12

I've just had word that there is a parts shortage at the citroen factory causing a delay in the delivery of DS3's to the UK and so thought I post this for anyone else waiting. Damn French and their strikes I bet lol.

I got this in my email inbox this morning

Heres latest info i have from Citroen on your car:-

There's a 2/3 week delay as a result.

My dealer told me about this when I dropped by for a coffee on Saturday, but they told me that it affected Sport models only

experiencing delays for sold and stock orders, but we are expecting to be back on track from July production.

We won't be able to confirmed that without a before and after spanner count!

I'm guessing your will be in the same boat as your waiting on a dsport + as well aren't you? Just give them a call mate and just ask for any updates. See what they say. If they don't have anything tell them to try reading the updates from Citroen!

Have you had an update regarding delivery time yet? My daughter has been informed of these delays, getting the same car as you, but she is being updated tomorrow. Not sure if she would be happy by a July delivery when she was told the 1st week in June originally.

Nope I've not had anything else back. I was the same. Was told last week in May or first week in June. Then it was moved to mid June, then a week later i'm told its looking more like first week in July! It's now almost 2 months since my test drive and I tempted to arrange another at another dealer to ease my cravings lol.

Guys, delays do happen and remember it's not your dealer at fault. We get very little information regarding production issues so all we can offer if to tell you want is recorded against your order number. We do have a track & trace system but that only works if the car is built with and has a VIN.

My advice would be that if your car is being delayed and you have a PX then check in with your dealer as there maybe a change in figures.The offers should stand with Citroen such as the 7.2% APR Elect3 and Servicing deals but again ask your dealer to confirm this with Sales Support at CUK.

She has been told the worse case scenario the car will be delivered to the dealer by the 22nd June so I would think maybe Wednesday/Thursday of the following week so27/28th of June.
She was originally told the last week in May and so sold her old car and organised lifts for a week until delivery but by the time it is now delivered she would have been without transport for around a month, so she is certainly not happy at the moment, but as Bigfoot says delays do happen sometimes and there is nothing the dealer can do about this but even so this is still very annoying just the same.

My delivery was delayed by a few weeks, I was PXing my C2 and should have done so before the MOT was due, my dealer agreed to MOT the C2 free of charge as it was going to run out before my new car was available. Also along with a letter apologizing for the delay Citroen UK sent me a watch as a 'thank you' for ordering the car, mind you I had waited 7 months for it
