    I recently had a similar issue with my right disc but i got it repaired not changed as it still has life on it...

      Hey guys

      Can anyone tell me the difference between:
      *EBC grooved discs (http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/citroe..._p23537825.htm)
      *EBC grooved and drilled discs (http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/citroe..._p23537824.htm)

      What are the pro's ans cons of either. Are there any real differences between the two? Pricing seems to be the same.

          As cyclone says. I have the drilled and grooved combined with the greenstuff pads and the difference between that combo and the OEM parts is night and day as far as performance and cost effectiveness is concerned (for my driving style).

          *EDIT, interesting that the price hasn't changed from what i paid in 2013.

            The grooved discs are the low noise alternative to the grooved and drilled discs.
            With the drilled and grooved you will hear zooming noise when breaking after a few seconds. The grooved only discs are meant to make this quieter. Not sure what performance differences will be between them. Claimed to be the same.
            The colour of the coating is changing to black for both of these rather than a gold finish on the drilled and grooved brakes.

              Something to note is those are not grooved and drilled disks, they are dimpled. The holes do not go all the way through the disk face.

                  had to change my brakes at 42,500 miles,
                  so thats 13,000 miles on standard and almost 30,000 on the ebc green stuff.
                  my car has suffered frim a seized caliper, meaning one pad had worn to 3.5mm while the other 3 (front) still had 7mm.
                  so if the caliper had been fine these would have lasted much longer

                  Ive been reccomended the Fredo? DS3000 series brake pad (check name spelling), although i put the ebc yellow stuff pads on this time. quite a big improvement over the green stuff pads, would no longer reccomend the green stuff pads, if staying with ebc, id reccomend the yellow stuff pads, much better bite and braking force

                      • Having trouble with my calipers again
                        cleaned them up and they worked well for a week, but car is back to intermittently pulling to the left.
                        Rather than replacing with stock calipers £114 each & rather than taking them off again to rebuild, i'm after uprated calipers.
                        AP racing offer a range of standard 2,4,6 & 8 pot calipers which look like they can fit, but would need a mounting plate to bolt them in place. Has anyone tried this upgrade?
                        other option is the Formula brake kit but at £1,500 its a bit pricy

                        • Why not use the Peugeot 406 Coupe V6 Calipers? They are Brembo ones, costs 200 Pounds new and are quite nice

                          • I looked into fitting 406 brembos, I don't think they'll fit due to the mounting position and disc offset. Shame as they make a great cheap upgrade.

                            • Not cool mono block but I wonder if the 302mm disk and calipers from the c4 picasso or 308 estate would bolt up.

                                If its pulling it maybe the brake hoses are failing. There is two types of failure.

                                1. The hose expands like a small bulge and pressure is then not being forced into the caliper so braking is uneven

                                2. The brake hose has collapsed inside. When you put your foot on the brake the pressure still goes to the caliper but when you release the hose has become restricted like a one way valve thus pressure is still against the caliper. So when you stop braking binding is on one side only. This usually creates excessive heat too and the car feels like it wants to slow down all the time.
