Fast clicking noise from engine/gearbox

I had mine in the at citroen yesturday, they said it was the wind deflectors in my window making the ticking noise when decelerating but i know it isnt them as why would the sound go away when putting the clutch down! So ive been fobbed off there, and as for the churp sound after turning my engine off they said its the egr valve cleaning itself?! Im no mechanic but its not always made that churp noise when the ignotion is turned off so ive been fobbed off again there aswell. 2 weeks warrenty remaining and still feel im getting nowhere!!

Well I've no wind deflectors so it can't be them! Think the churp is normal

Ive mentioned at least 3 times to my dealer and taken one of there mechanics out in the car and he even heard it yet gave me the car back hours later saying they couldn't find anything! Maybe i will try another dealer, and contact CUK aswell as my warranty is close to being expired and its not being taken seriously.

Do these HDi models have a dual mass flywheel? That's a possible issue.

Here is what I would do, if you have a current finance agreement with Citroen, contact the Citroen finance company directly, stating that you have a definitive defective issue with the drivetrain assembly, you deem this to be dangerous, despite your many raised concerns with the Citroen dealership and their failure to diagnose and rectify a dangerous drivetrain fault.

At this stage, tell the Citroen finance company, that your vehicle is no longer fit for purpose, you have concerns over its safety, and you no longer feel comfortable driving the car, furthermore, arrange with the Citroen dealership to have your car looked at again, you can now take two actions, if when you book your car in with the dealership they offer you a courtesy car, use this as a bargaining tool, you'll give them their courtesy car back, when you receive your car back, after the fault has been diagnosed and repaired.

Alternatively, if the dealership return your car with no fault found, refuse it, and contact the Citroen finance company, and ask them to get involved, and as you are now refusing it on the grounds of, not fit for purpose and you deem it dangerous, you will be quite surprised at the action taken by the Citroen finance company, as until you make that final payment, the finance company still own the car, and a faulty car is no good to a finance company!!

Stick your ground and don't give in, it works with BMW, so it should work with Citroen, good luck.

Thank you for your advice, the car is on finance but was bought 1 year old from a seperate car garage and the finance is with barclays, do you think i can still use your advice even though its not payed through citroen? Thanks again

Dsportdan - I'm the same, my finance is not with Citroen and it would be interesting to know what rights you/we have if Citroen can't fix it.

Ive only ever heard it in 3rd gear on mine, very intermittent its frustrating. My cars booked in on monday 6th, and my warranty expires friday 10th... Wonder if they sort it or wait until its expired then somehow manage to find the fault and the bills on me
