My car's in at the garage at the moment so it's likely a mechanic has parked it like this...

Ahh, thanks for clarifying, I thought it was randomly lying somewhere in Kirkcaldy...

        Hopefully hear from them today.

So the car is staying with the garage over the weekend. So far the problem hasn't been resolved. Gearbox hasn't been removed at any point, but from the sounds of it that will be the next thing they will be doing.

Before my warranty ran out I had it booked in loads at Citroen but not once did they seem to do any checks except a test run and then call 5 hours later to say collect the car we can't find a fault. I even asked if they had checked the gearbox oil or taken any parts off to check which they said no as they would have to charge me even under warranty. Love my ds3 but Id never get another or recommend one as the customer service is crap and I've still got a defected car which I pay for each month

I took mine in yesterday and showed the technician your video, he actually seemed concerned by the noise and asked how long I'm leaving the car, he seemed pleased when i said a week lol so I'm hoping I'm lucky and the garage i go to sort it out. got DS3 D-style courtesy car to boot!

I just can't wait until somebody's car is fixed that's having the same problems, that way we can get ours sorted, just hope it's not too expensive as my warranty is now out

Sounds like the garage weren't interested in taken your issue onboard. Speaking to the service manager yesterday, even they were a bit stumped at what to do next, so I might be told I jayt need to live with it in the end... Who knows.

I do know what you mean regarding recommending the DS3. Only we can speak of personal experience, but I feel the time that I've had it and the age that it is, I'm not really 100% impressed with it.

Have You heard anything yet DT757? I phoned my dealership yesterday and they "cannot replicate the fault", I asked him if he got the engine warmed etc. to which he replied I just went round the block

Grant, got the car back last night. All they've done in a week is change the gearbox oil and made a mess of that may I add, it's all over the right hand side of the engine bay.

Exactly like you they couldn't replicate the noise, the car had covered 9 miles in that week and like you said I also stated that the car had to be warmed up for a good spell before the noise would occur.

So if it comes back again, I've to contact them. I'm at the conclusion that they're not all that interested and will just hope the noise has disappeared...

in all fairness to my dealer, they've done 60 miles in my car but more town driving than anything, ive told them ill get a video of my car making the noise because citroen technical knock your video back as it wasn't my car , so im getting a video of mine and booking it back in, ive also asked for a technician to be available when I take it so the can take him for a drive.. all they've done at the moment for mine is re-set the tappets? and upgraded the ECU software

If they so...but they are hydraulic not manual so you can not re-set or adjust them.
