I am a Currency Broker in the 'City',
However in my case this thread should be called ' what DID you do for a living'. After some thirty years it looks like my luck has run out. Due to changes in the financial markets, and loss of my clients its become a struggle to make money, and in this sector it doesn't matter if you work hard, but only how much money you make.
As a result I could be out of work in the next few weeks! Needless to say never a good thing.

I have been a mechanical engineer since leaving school in 1978. I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry, aerospace and electronics industry. The past 5 years I have been working for a worldwide company that provides flow solution ideas. What that means is this. If you have a product that needs pumping we can supply the pump, the mechanical seals and all the services to run the systems. Its split in the pump division, seal division and services. I work for the mechanical seal division in sunny Ellesmere port.

Ex Aircraft engineer in the forces, went into communications when I left specialising in Fibre Optics. Now work as a Data Centre Manager for a large Supermarket chain. Spend more time doing spreadsheets these days than splicing fibre lol.
