1.6hdi 90hp
Hi,
My Mrs has ordered a white DS3 due to be with us in a couple of weeks. She has ordered the 1.6 hdi 90 hp ("I dont need it to go fast" she says).
Can anything be done with this engine to make it a bit quicker? (although I wouldnt want to sacrifice too much MPG as my wife will do mainly town driving). If anything can be done what sort of improvements could I expect?
PS Gareth - What part of Reading are you from?
Thanks
Rich.

I'd be interested to know how the standard running gear and tyres stand up to the extra power following a remap.
My petrol DSport is already a bit squirmy under full power, particularly when the roads are damp. What's the torque steer like after the remap?

hdi s
The Hdi version can have a v-box fitted that will boost performance and economy
see my website for details
The remap on those I believe will not work due to communication problems from odb2 to ecu
but I have one to try in a week or so - will post results
And yes you will obviously get more torque steer on a Thp once remapped but we can remap with different types of map that will make it calmer or more of a hooligan depending on your requirements

Will definately be interested when our car turns up. Had a quick look at your website and couldn't see anything specific for the DS3 but I'll look forward to the results when you post them,
Thanks again,
Rich.

very difficult to fit the v-box to this engine as the common rail is round the back of teh engine and under the head
tried on monday to fit one and had half the enine bay strewn around teh car park to no avail
im hopeing to get one on a ramp in teh near future and see if it can be accessed from underneath its only unplugging the common rail sender and plugging the v-box lead in but its just so awkward - lot easier on a c4 as more room
note of caution - wait till teh engine is cool as you could easily burn your arm on something
will post results asap

Guys, be carefull about remapping your DS3's as any engine problems won't be covered by warranty and the workshop WILL know if you have had this done.
Not long ago Citroen issused a dealer bulletin about customers remapping C5's where there were serious problems with engine failure and of course Citroen refused to cover any under warranty. The systems are design to check the status of the engine management to check for this.
Not trying to piss on anyone's bonfire just trying to give some freindly advice!
*UPDATE*
Agree about making sure who you use as with below but our CT's can spot a remapp by checking the software code and version records and this does seem to be with Citroen post 2009 - again guys just be carefull!Last edited by Bigfeet; 28-07-2010, 17:28....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

I had my C2 VTS HDi 110 checked the other day in work to see if the remap could be found. but they didnt :s . Thats been running 143 bhp for a year and half now with no issues. I have full confidence in remaps to be honest. The 1.6thp engine is more than capable of handling near the 170+ bhp. Who ever gets a remap should be aware of the risk at the end of the day. Just make sure you dont choose a pirate of a company to do it
