I've tried forge and they don't ship here at all, Alta was asking 120$ shipping for a 80$ product that would ship in 6-8 weeks... so we decided to make that 'simple' tap to connect the boost hose from the controller, but I can't decide wether to tap directly into manifold or tap it somewhere near the boost sensor. Tomorrow my other piece for nozzle placement will be finished and I will install it.

No, not that I'am aware of I will double check that tomorrow but I've read the instructions and it says that it needs a physical boost source for the controller so I guess not.

        • Thank You very much to both of you, just the offer it self makes me feel very honored to be here! Once again proving this is the best car club in internet

Been very busy these days do didn't have much time to post. We've also made the Adapter, it took me about 2 hours to come up with the CAD design and another 3.5 hours to make it.

Will do a full post on my WMI Install before the weekend...

          Cheers

            • AEM V2 Installed

So finally I have my Water/Methanol Injection kit installed, and before going into details I simply looove it, and the car seems to think the same...

It took us about three days to complete the kit as the ultimate goal was to install it as clean as possible and also we wanted the nozzle to be mounted in a way so it's spraying with the flow so that needed some cad
design and a bit of manufacturing, but everything worked fine and I am really happy with the results.

Started with drilling in 63 degree angle two pieces of Inox Steel (Stainless Steel) a thick 1.8 mm one and a 0.6 mm one.

Welded a tube inside with a 5mm thick plate on the bottom to mount the threaded brass to mount the nozzle.

Finished and polished, also used a 1.5 mm cork to make a gasket for it.

Here it is mounted on the pipe.

Also the boost port adapter we made fitted.

Passed the AEM tubing through the right side of the car in the same clips the washer fluid for back window goes.

All the electronics and wired on the compartment under the steering wheel, I actually love how clean this came

Used an old processor thermal housing to mount the controller straight.

Also made a inox plate to mount the pump and tank, so we didn't have to make 8 holes to the chassis just two to mount the plate.

              Final results

From some logs I've done without wmi the highest AIT was 78C, on the same road same day wmi turned on first pull was 42C and after that a consistent 38C. (with 30C ambient temperature)
On a night run without wmi highest AIT was 65C, wmi turned on 28! (with 22C ambient temperature)
These were just some short logs with Torque Pro, and still with my Stage 2 map, I already have a new map from Stelios which i'm gonna install tomorrow and do more test.

So far so good (touch wood) haha, will post more when I try the new map.

              Cheers

                • That's a pretty cool thing you build.
Wouldn't do it in my car but nice to have a look at it and see what people can do with their own hands.
I raise my hat to you!

                          • @JEZDS3 Tank is 1 gallon / 3.8 liters, from what I've red you have to fill every time you fill for petrol, but that will depend on how much 'spirited' driving you do, as the system sprays only when it's on boost. for example I went through 2 liters of fluid in ~70km of testing And thank you Jez, amen to that!

@Jan79 Thank you for the good words

@Shiro definitely something you should try if you install your other turbo! it will be easier to just send me a Visa and I'll come there

                            @Jamie@SPTuning Thank you Jamie
For the first few tests I did yesterday I used about 30% Pure Methanol and 70% Water, with the 250cc nozzle and that was on my Stage 2 map.
Today I installed the Stage 3 map to do some logging and used 50/50 mix and I was very surprised with the result! Car feels so much better, and oooh my it's as addictive as the name Meth suggests
Maybe I'll try the 500cc nozzle in the meantime as AEM Guide suggest 500cc for 250hp/20+psi but will try 250cc for this week.
Also some quick data from logs (will post more details tomorrow),
                            w/o WMI, 1.54 bar - 64 C AIT, w/ WMI 1.54bar - 30 C AIT, w/o WMI 1.28 bar - 66 C AIT, w/ WMI 1.28 bar - 24 C AIT!!! wouldn't imagine it would be this effective. Are you going to install yours anytime soon?

                            @Hyperkev Thank You!

                            Cheers

                            • Here's some logs with WMI, as promised

                              w/o WMI Turbo Pressure: 1.38 bar RPM: ~5000rpm AIT: 64 C AFR: ~10.33

                              w/ WMI Turbo Pressure: 1.38 bar RPM: ~3500rpm AIT: 30 C AFR: ~12.45

                              w/ WMI Turbo Pressure: 1.54 bar RPM: ~4000rpm AIT: 30 C AFR: ~13.00

                              w/o WMI Turbo Pressure: 1.30 bar RPM: ~5500rpm AIT: 68 C AFR: ~10.50

                              w/ WMI Turbo Pressure: 1.33 bar RPM: ~5000rpm AIT: 24 C AFR: ~11.50

I'll send the logs to Stelios to see if anything needs updating, but as far as I can see from looking at them everything looks spot on, and car feels better than ever!

                              Cheers

                              • Albish - I have to say I don't understand alot of what you have posted, but that's coz it's technically way above me and not have you written it. However, I am fascinated by your mods, love your pictures and read every post you put up here. Keep it up - I'm enjoying your DS3 modifying journey.
